Okay, maybe I could have come up with a catchier title, but that's what this deviation is; it's an investigation that I conducted into how the look of deviantART has changed over the six years that it has been online.
This investigation took nearly a month to do. It is basically around a dozen screenshots of deviantART's home page and a description of how it has changed. This took a lot of work, so I would be grateful for any feedback (good or bad). I encourage you all to take a look at it, I think you will all find it interesting to see how this community has evolved. One last thing: it is quite a large image, I apologize for that. Any smaller would make some of the things in the screenshots hard to see. Check it out! - - - - - EDIT: This was updated on August 7th, 2006 (deviantART's sixth birthday). The updates include a few spelling mistakes, sharpening of a few of the screenshots, and of course a new explanation of the final screenshot so that it no longer refers to version 5 as the future when it is now the present! EPIC EDIT: Updated to include dA version 6 and to kill some time. A huge thank you to the hundreds of comments and favourites that this deviation has received, even $spyed gave this a favourite (click here if you don't believe me)! The response and support that you have given me is overwhelming, and I cannot thank you enough.
